I would like to make an announcement:

I am alive and making a post!

I feel accomplished because I just spent my Saturday sleeping in, baking something, cleaning out the refrigerator, cleaning the bathroom, taking a shower, organizing my room, finding a cool willow branch in the backyard, coming to the office, AND updating my journal.

I love it when things are a little weird and different, in a good way. I came into the office this evening to find my one desk at an angle with just enough room for me to sqeeze in front of my computer. The purpose - a pathway for the rolls of carpet to be brought in the front window and hauled past. I even got to help haul it in for a few seconds before Mr. Chivalrous relieved me of my terrible burden. Oh gracious, I may have gotten a scratch! Or worse, a carpet burn! (shudders)

I miss home... working in the garden, dirtiness, running to the woods, viewing the latest varmint that got strung up in the backyard, mowing lawn, chasing (big)little bro down for a good head-lock...stuff like that. But it's cool here, in a very different way. :)

It's Friday!

I've had a rather eventful week. This last weekend I moved from the apartment building to another house with four other girls. It was kind of a last-minute thing, but totally showed me that God knows what He is doing and enjoys giving me cool surprises! I miss hanging out late at night with all the girls in the various apartments that 'adopted' me, but I'm very glad for the move too. My stuff is currently in a big pile in the middle of my new room, but I hope to remedy that this weekend. A dresser might help with that. :)

On Wednesday, I had a very close call... the girl who was to move into my old apartment decided to show up a couple days early along with her mom and sister. My apartment was not, I repeat, not, ready to be inhabited by guests! Leah and Philip came by and snatched me away from my desk and we proceeded to wildly empty out the last of the contents of the apartment and clean it, make the beds, etc. Philip and I wound up charging into another apartment with the last of the stuff just as Leah was bringing the guests up the stairs and opening the door. It was all quite hilarious, but we managed to maintain our reputations by not busting out in uproarious laughter. The guests still think we are sane people - we'll see how long this lasts.

Hello world!

Wow, I can't believe it's taken me this long to post. But here I am! I have been working all day by a very droopy flower which was given to me yesterday for my birthday. At the moment I somehow feel a bond of understanding with it. :) I've also been working by a little jar of espresso beans, which come in handy on days like this!

And now after this momentous occasion of making my first post, I shall go back to my apartment and celebrate by checking to see if my refrigerator has been fixed, and checking out the state of the contents. :)
